Peninsular War Memorial Obelisk | Church and Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça


Inaugurated in 1954, the Peninsular War Obelisk in Torres Vedras honours those who fought in the 1808–1814 campaigns. Designed by architect Miguel Jacobetty, it features inscriptions of key battles — Roliça, Vimeiro, Buçaco — and the Lines of Torres Vedras. Erected by civic initiative in Praça 25 de Abril, it stands as a reminder of national sacrifice and international solidarity in the defence of Portugal.
