Boca Santa: with the sea as witness

Where nature and poetry mingle with the salty tang of the sea breeze

Simple in appearance but refined in its cuisine, Boca Santa Restaurant offers a menu that blends the traditional and the contemporary in Portuguese cooking. From fish and seafood to meat and vegan options, there’s a little of everything.

Its cosy and thoughtfully designed interior, featuring rustic touches, is complemented by a pleasant outdoor terrace with a sea view.

The house specialities are varied, with highlights including seafood and small plates, Polvo à Lagareiro (octopus with garlic and olive oil), baby squid, Paella, and Cataplana. Among the meat dishes, the Bife à Boca is a firm favourite.

Boca Santa has also been the setting for 'Jantares com História' ('Dinners with History'), a series created by owner Rui Terras. These events invite guests to discover the local history while enjoying a unique dining experience built around dishes thoughtfully crafted by chef Rogério Miranda — each inspired by the evening’s theme or historical period and paired with wines carefully selected by sommelier Gonçalo Cosme.

'Jantares com História' offer singular moments of conviviality, bringing together people eager to celebrate Praia de Santa Cruz. In this mystical place — Where nature and poetry mingle with the salty tang of the sea breeze — one can admire ‘the most beautiful sunset’, as described by Japanese poet Kazuo Dan, a sight that leaves no visitor unmoved.
